On Saturday Jan 26th, we held our annual family day picnic match for our club. This year was our largest turn out ever with over 79 shooters that registered to shoot the IDPA match, and several other members who brought their families out to shoot other events.
One feature that has become a TSSA tradition, is for everyone to drag out their .22 rifles and pistols and we set up a gallery stage where Mom’s and Dad’s can spend some personal time teaching their kids basic target shooting and safe gun handling.
Several members of our board set aside their shooting day and instead brought out their BBQ grills and coffee makers so that everyone had plenty of food and beverages for a large picnic.
We started with coffee and doughnuts, and served lunch with burgers and hot dogs along with the usual chips.
Our long time member and local Barrister-at-law Robert Kuntz (shown above with his back to the camera watching over the kids) wrote a well written after action blurb on his blog The Suburban Sheepdog that addresses not only a little about his day, but about the times we find ourselves in. This year we raffled off a new M&P pistol that was donated by Guntech Inc.
We offer our special thanks to Richard & Nicole Duskin for their continued support of our club.
